Founded in 1974, Youngone Corporation is a leading global manufacturer of outdoor/ athletic clothing, textiles, footwear and gear built with a history of innovation, partnership and trust. In Bangladesh, they have 12 manufacturing factories in Chittagong EPZ employing 58,000 workers. They are the largest garment manufacturing organization operating in Bangladesh. Being a human resource based operation; one of their major challenges was to bring order in employee records. Keeping track of employee attendance, merging the system with salary and avoiding intrusion was their main area of concern.  In Bangladesh, ESL was the only eligible solution provider to handle such ginormous operation impeccably. ESL collaborated with Suprema, the global leader in biometrics and securities technology.  After due research on Youngone’ s need ESL team advised Suprema BioStation L2. ESL deployed the system in a location which was 250km away from ESL headquarter. To execute the project efficiently ESL dedicated a highly trained technical team of 25 members on location. The team had three months to complete networking, fiber connectivity, install 600 machines and establish the database of all employees. With relentless afford and exemplary team work, ESL completed the project within due time.

The ECNEC, a committee of Planning Commission of Bangladesh Government (GoB), is in charge of coordinating meetings of ECNEC and monitoring the decisions taken at the meetings. Decision regarding major infrastructure projects of Bangladesh are taken, followed up and monitored in these weekly meetings. In 2015, GoB introduced ECNEC with ICT Tools to simplify these processes, reduce approval time significantly, improve responsiveness of development procedures and increase accuracy of data use for defining many macro level indicators and policy formulation. Once, the digitation process completed, ESL offered to enhance the over-all project performance by improving their overall system. After in-depth research ESL team tailored a complete network management solution for ECNEC including Controller based seamless WiFi, Virtualization, Storage, Underground Fiber Backbone with HGD Technology, Switch, Bandwidth Management, Floor wise LAN, LAN switch and staking technology. ELS team designed this composite solution with systems from internationally acclaimed partners – Cisco, Belden, Sophos and Eaton. To complete this mammoth project within 5 months, ESL deployed almost a hundred professionals. Starting from fiber backbone to LAN establishment, ESL team showed excellent agility.

bKash Limited – a mobile financing service platform which is a subsidiary of BRAC Bank, started as a joint venture between BRAC Bank Limited, Bangladesh and Money in Motion LLC, USA. bKash has grown by leaps and bounds since 2011. Its monthly transaction volume has grown from USD 680 million in 2013 to USD 1.05 billion in 2015. The number of business accepting bKash as a payment option has grown by over eight times, from 75 to 700. The number of merchants has grown by almost 50 times, from 600 to 30,000. bKash now ranks two in world’s mobile financing services. In April 2013, International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, became an equity partner and in April 2014, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation became the investor of the company. As their operation amplified, an abundance of data overwhelmed them causing reporting turbulences and being able to use raw data as insightful information became a major challenge for bkash. These datasets consisted of information such as customer demographics, sales overheads, distribution channel details etc. They needed a solution which will enable them to see-through every nook and crannies of this exponentially growing data.

ESL dedicated their pool of highly trained professional to design a solution that will be the best answer for bKash’s requirements. After due research, ESL Team suggested a complete data warehouse with technical solution and content input. This data warehouse has the capability of data analysis and reporting. It can be used to integrate, or bring together, data from a number of different sources into one centralized location. The vast majority of the data they store is current or historical data that is used to create reports or reveal trends. This will be designed to give a long-range view of data over time. They trade off transaction volume and instead specialize in data aggregation.

To provide the best solution possible, ESL reached out to their existing pool of partners and collaborated with ORACLE for technical solutions and EBIW for business intelligence. A team 8 professional including researchers, pre-sales, technical expert and engineers ensured best existing system in terms of speed, content support, accuracy, zero downtime and low maintenance. With relentless afford of only six months, the team successfully installed one of the largest data warehouses of Bangladesh for bKash. The increased business intelligence bKash gained from this solution helped them to apply it in business processes like market segmentation, inventory management, financial management, and sales.

SMART AXIATA CO., LTD. a leading mobile telecommunications company of Cambodia, serves currently over 8 million subscribers under the ‘Smart’ brand. Smart Axiata is part of Axiata Group Berhad, one of the largest telecommunications groups in Asia. In January 2014, Smart became the first mobile operator in Cambodia to provide true 4G LTE services, now available across all 25 provinces widely. Smart also provides 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 3.75G mobile services, supporting the very latest in multimedia and mobile internet services as well as international roaming across more than 190 countries. Smart Axiata has an IT infrastructure including several IT systems, databases and applications running in small physical and big virtual environments. They needed to embark an end-to-end activity to enable GDR for IT systems, DBs and applications across 2 data centers – HQ and TKKO.

ESL deployed their expert technical resources for consultation on site from HQ. The team positively operated on F5 5250V implementation, application GDR active-passive solution, advisory of best practice on SRM implementation, confirming the HLD and LLD have no pitfalls, missed areas etc., an overall strategy description is provided in a way it could be used for business users and IT personnel to understand on a high level how all relevant components (DB, App, LTM, GTM, Network, DNS etc) are logically connected and enable various strategies for App GDR, advisory services and strategy recommendation for Databases (Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL) DR options and relevant tools, advisory services and strategy recommendation on BCP, set one DR type for all apps that will be active-passive over SRM, with asynchronous storage replication, advisory services on Central Monitoring Tool. This complete process consultation was done meticulously within a span of 3 months rendering SMART to operate with sustainable efficiency.

Oracle Exadata Upgrade & Expansion for ROBI

Robi a leading telecommunication company of Bangladesh was using one half rack Exadata X2-2 machine for Data Warehouse (DWH) along with X4-2 & X5-2 nodes in Kaderia DC and another half rack Exadata X2-2 machine for DB Consolidation Phase-I in Pubail DC. Along with upgrading this system they also needed to relocate Entire Data Warehouse (DWH) stack from Kaderia DC to new DC. ESL successfully completed this project by Setting up Exadata Half Rack X6-2 (High Capacity) Machine with total 4TB of memory capacity for Data Warehouse (DWH) in Dhaka-3 Data Center, relocate X4-2 & X5-2 nodes from Kaderia DC to Pubail DC, DB Consolidation hardware Platform replacement & version up gradation, CRM Exadata Capacity Expansion. A team of 3 highly trained engineers completed this mammoth project within 3 months without zero downtime.
